Alocasia 'Regal Shields'
The Elephant Ear or Alocasia 'Regal Shields' has large flat deep green leaves. Native to Africa, the Alocasia grows to between 5 and 6 feet tall. Outdoors, the plant is wind-resistant, and prefers indirect sun and moist soil. It’s a great choice for a balcony or terrace. Indoors, make sure to keep the plant away from an AC or heating vent, as it dislikes constant changes of temperatures.
• Light: Medium to bright indirect light
• Water: Water when the top 2 - 4” of soil feels dry. Pour water slowly around the center of the plant.
• Considerations: Depending on where you end up placing your Alocasia, it may get more or less thirsty and would require watering with more or less frequency. Start by checking the soil once a week. If the soil still feels moist, check back in a few days
